Celebrate the “Days of Our Lives” as we step back in time and see how life was in Ashington, North Seaton, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea and Lynemouth. We have transferred huge amounts of cine film to DVD and this rare footage certainly takes us back to a time when there was so much to enjoy in our young lives. We have the streets and the games we played. Football, netball and the rowing club. Our school days are on film too. Were you in the scouts ? If so this is also on film for you. Witness the children's gala from Ashington and North Seaton and you will reflect with fondness those memories. The Queens Silver Jubilee Celebrations were certainly enjoyed by all as we witness the street parties from around our area. Sword dancers are on film too as we step back to the 1920’s at Newbiggin and we see them in the colliery yard getting their dance routine correct and in full dress in the streets performing. The fishing community is also on view as we witness rare footage from Newbiggin. Witness the fishing boats arriving and the work involved to haul the boats from the shore. There is also a fish auction on the beach along with footage of the days when the beach was packed out on summer days. We also meet a familiar sight on the beach in Bertorelli’s ice cream cart and children enjoying his ices. At Lynemouth we have leek growing and the colliery. Witness miners underground, not only at Lynemouth, but Ashington and Woodhorn Colliery, and take a trip to the coal face and see the work involved to get the coal to the surface in this rare archive film. There is so much more on offer and you will certainly enjoy it. Yes, it is all here for you and you never know, you may see yourself, a family member or indeed a friend from days long gone as we take this journey through time and witness the “Days of Our Lives” Copyright Six-T Media 2012.
